WORDPRESS WEB DESIGN · TERRYVILLE-BASED, SERVING BRISTOL & CENTRAL CT

Web Design in Bristol, CT for Small Businesses That Do It All

You started something real. Your website should prove it.

If you’re looking for a web designer in Bristol, CT, you probably don’t need a lecture about “digital presence.” You need a website that loads fast, says clearly what you do, and makes it easy for a customer standing on Farmington Avenue, or searching from their kitchen table, to call you, book you, or walk through your door.

I’m Steve Duetzmann, and I run Side Quest Solutions from Terryville, right next door to Bristol. I build WordPress websites for small businesses and solopreneurs, the editors, bookkeepers, consultants, therapists, remodelers, and shop owners who are doing the work themselves and wearing every hat while they do it. When you hire me, you deal with me: no account manager, no hand-offs, no ticket queue in another time zone.

Built for how Bristol actually does business

Bristol isn’t a generic suburb, and a Bristol website shouldn’t read like one. This is a city built on making things, from its clockmaking roots to the manufacturers and machine shops that still anchor good jobs here, with ESPN’s campus on Middle Street, families heading to Lake Compounce all summer, and the Mum Festival filling downtown every fall. Those are very different customers, and your website has to speak plainly to whichever one of them is looking for you.

Whether your customers find you along Route 6, Route 72, or Farmington Avenue, most of them will meet your website before they meet you. They’ll check it on a phone, in a hurry, probably while comparing you with two competitors. What wins that moment isn’t a fancy animation. It’s a site that answers three questions in seconds: what do you do, can I trust you, and how do I reach you? Every site I build is structured around those three answers: clear services, real proof, and a call to action on every page.

What I can build, and look after, for you

Website design & WordPress development

A new site, or a rebuild of the one you’ve outgrown, built on WordPress so you own it outright and can update it yourself. No proprietary platform lock-in: if we ever part ways, your website goes with you. Already have a site that’s almost right? A tune-up may get you further than a rebuild. I’ll tell you honestly which one you need, even when the honest answer is the cheaper one.

Hosting & care plans, at published prices

Most web designers in Bristol will only talk price on a sales call. Mine are on this page. Care plans cover hosting, updates, backups, security checks, and a real human to call when something looks wrong, starting at $25 a month, with fuller plans at $249 and $999 a month for businesses that need ongoing content and growth work. The full breakdown is in the pricing section below.

SEO that starts with your Google listing

For a Bristol business, your Google Business Profile is your real homepage. It’s what shows when someone searches “near me” from Memorial Boulevard. I offer a one-off SEO Scan for $250 that tells you exactly where your site and listing stand, and ongoing SEO maintenance so the gains stick. And if you’re not sure what you need yet, a $375 Strategy Session gives you a written plan you can use whether you hire me or not.

Content that sounds like you

The hardest part of a new website is usually the words. I help with content services too, pages and posts written in your voice, for your customers, without the robot aftertaste, so the site we launch is finished, not a template waiting on you.

How it works

  1. A free call. Twenty to thirty minutes about your business, your customers, and what the website needs to do. No pitch deck.
  2. A plain-language proposal. What I’ll build, what it costs, and how long it takes, in writing, against the published prices.
  3. Build and review. I build, you review the real site, and we revise together until it sounds and looks like your business.
  4. Launch and look after it. Your site goes live on a care plan, with updates, backups, and monitoring handled, and me on the other end of the phone when you need a change.

Why Bristol businesses pick a one-person studio

The bigger agencies serving Bristol are good at what they do, and priced and scheduled for bigger clients. A one-person studio is a different trade: you get senior-level work and direct access, in exchange for a calendar that books a small number of projects at a time. For a Bristol small business, that usually means your designer actually knows your shop, your street, and your customers, and picks up the phone when the site needs something before a busy weekend. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll say so on our first call and point you toward who is.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost in Bristol, CT?

It depends on size and features, so new builds are quoted individually, in writing, after a free call. What I won’t do is hide everything until a sales call: care plans are published at $25, $249, and $999 a month, an SEO Scan is $250, and a Strategy Session is $375. My longer guide, how much a website costs in Connecticut, walks through the numbers.

Do I own my website?

Yes. Your site is built on WordPress, on your domain, and it’s yours, content, files, and all. There’s no proprietary platform keeping you locked in if we ever part ways.

Can you redesign my existing site instead of starting over?

Often, yes. Sometimes a tune-up (speed, structure, clearer copy, a fixed Google listing) gets an existing site most of the way there for far less than a rebuild. I’ll assess what you have and tell you honestly which route makes sense.

Do you host and maintain the site after launch?

Yes. That’s what the care plans are for: hosting, updates, backups, security checks, and support from the same person who built the site, starting at $25 a month.

Are you actually local to Bristol?

Close enough to matter: Side Quest Solutions is based in Terryville, immediately north of Bristol, and I work with Bristol and Central CT businesses in person or by video, whichever suits the project. You’ll always deal with me directly.

How do we start?

Book a free call. We’ll talk through your business and what the site needs to do, and you’ll get a plain-language proposal with the price in writing. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll tell you and point you in a better direction.
